Manny Pacquiao set to clash with Ruslan Provodnikov in an exhibition on April 18
Seasoned veteran Manny Pacquiao will take on former light-welterweight world champion Ruslan Provodnikov in an exhibition bout scheduled for April 18.
Pacquiao, now 47, returned from a four-year retirement in July after a majority draw with WBC welterweight titleholder Mario Barrios. Although he had pressed for a rematch following that setback, Pacquiao has since shifted his focus toward an exhibition format.
The two fighters—Pacquiao, who has held titles across eight weight classes, and Provodnikov, who retired in 2016—are set for a 10-round exhibition at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
"I carry the Philippines with me every time I fight," Pacquiao stated.
"The support from my country and from fans around the world continues to inspire me. I'm returning to deliver a memorable spectacle for them—and I’m ready."
"Returning to Las Vegas means so much to me."
